This place suits me perfectly. It offers 24-hour reception, a seasonal outdoor pool, and great laundry service. The staff once helped me with an insect bite, showing their care. I'll return for Christmas!

Very good extensive breakfast, friendly staff, Super view of the sea and the fort, good Poil
Unfortunately not always clean bath towels, a bit off the beaten track in Rethymno and unfortunately no beach.

Rethymno vibes 🌊✨
The suite was massive, with a killer view and a lekker big balcony for sundowners. Brekkie was varied and tasty, and the staff treated us like family, always ready to help. It felt super relaxed, like a holiday should!

Large spacious rooms with beautiful sea views. We were there in October 2018, when it was already very quiet in the hotel. The breakfast buffet selection is good and abundant. The indoor pool has a good temperature and very well maintained. The outdoor pool is nicely designed and we found a parking lot directly in front of the hotel. The city centre is within walking distance.

Special hotel, magnificent location to waterfront restaurants and top-class staff. A good choice of food at the delicious breakfast. Friendly check in and late check out. Very clean pool area too.

Really good customer service made our stay better.
The spa was fully booked during our two-day stay, disappointing since we received a discount voucher for it at check-in. We were also faced with ongoing road refurbishment outside the hotel, which limited access and was bothersome. As for the location, it took a significant 25-minute walk to reach the old town, and while there's a swimming area nearby, its proximity to a busy road made it unattractive.

Small hotel with courteous and polite staff that weas on the late shift. Favourable, fantastic location in a rather unattractive local area. And near to the restaurant, the port and the sea and bathroom.

I booked a room with an extremely comfy bed, a work desk, coffee/tea making machines, and television. The breakfast was great and excellent, the check in was efficient.

Enjoyed a blissful three nights with a spacious suite that featured a jacuzzi and stunning sea views. The breakfast selection was fantastic, and the staff were always courteous. The hotel is a manageable walk to the old town, making it easy to explore the local area while still offering a peaceful retreat. The wellness features were a delightful addition, allowing for relaxation after a day of sightseeing.

The breakfast buffet was not overloaded, but still very varied. In particular the local specialities of the own farm were very tasty. The outdoor pool was very nice, but due to the season it was a bit cool. The location of the hotel is very good: easy to reach by car (close to the "motorway", therefore good for excursions), but also so that you were in the old town after a short walk.... It was very great that we received a room upgrade when we arrived.

Amazing sea views (and sunsets) from the spacious terrace. The apartments were large and well-equipped - everything was recently renovated. The staff are very welcoming and helpful (especially Dinos and Christine). The location is good, but the photos might be a little misleading...the sea is about 70 meters from the hotel, but you must cross a busy road and there is no real beach, just rocks. We were fine with this, but it's worth mentioning. We rented a car for the duration of our stay, as there was a taxi strike, and Macaris served as a great base to explore the island. The hotel is just outside the center of Rethymno, but it's an easy walk to Old Town where you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants, night life etc.
This is no fault of the hotel's, but the sidewalks on the busy road that lead to town are under construction, and it can be a little tricky navigating the traffic - we had to cross and re-cross the road in several places. I imagine that in a month or two this won't be a problem. The hotel's pool area can be quite crowded. On most days, all lounge chairs had been reserved by 9:30am and stayed occupied until about 5pm. This didn't really bother us, as we spent most of our time exploring different parts of the island, but if you plan to stay at the hotel during the day you should make sure to wake up early.

The giant balcony was perfect for sunset chills, and the rooftop bar's views are next level!

Everything was great! extremely nice staff, very quiet pool area.
"The Beach" right at the hotel is not really a great beach, but it's enough for swimming and sunbathing.

Everything! The rooms were sleek and luxurious. The beds were incredibly comfortable--the most comfortable beds we were on during our entire trip in Greece. Upon our arrival we found complimentary wine, fruit plate, and water. In particular, on concierge was incredibly helpful with directions--we rented a car to explore the island--and any other questions we had along the way. Breakfast service was good and the pool side was gorgeous. The entire stay was incredible. We decided to pay a bit extra and it was well worth it. If you can afford it, stay here!
The hotel, while beautiful inside and out, is in the middle of a lot of on-going construction. The roads around the hotel are not the prettiest site--this didn't affect the quality of our stay, but it was noticeable.
